2. A Boy Called Christmas

An ordinary young boy called Nikolas sets out on an adventure into the snowy north in search of his father who is on a quest to discover the fabled village of the elves, Elfhelm. Taking with him a headstrong reindeer called Blitzen and a loyal pet mouse, Nikolas soon meets his destiny.

3. Elf

This movie is sweet and funny, though it can’t quite seem to make up its mind whether people should need proof of Santa’s existence or not. Some of the jokes in Elf work better than others, and the talents of Caan, Steenburgen, Bob Newhart (as Buddy’s adoptive father), and Ed Asner (as Santa) are neglected. But director Jon Favreau shows some verve and keeps the story moving quickly enough to keep it from feeling like a series of skits.

4. Bedtime Stories

A hotel handyman’s life changes when the lavish bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to magically come true.

5. Rise Of The Guardians

Parents should be aware that Rise of the Guardians is similar to The Avengers in that it features childhood icons such as Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and the Sandman. There’s a lot of action and some mild violence centered on the menacing bad guy Pitch Black, who uses his cavalry of terrifying stallions to turn children’s dreams into nightmares. However, it is highly recommended!

Age: 7+

6. Over The Moon

A bright young girl, driven by determination and a love of science, constructs a rocket ship to the moon to prove the existence of a legendary Moon Goddess. There, she embarks on an unexpected journey and discovers a whimsical land teeming with fantastical creatures.
This movie combines magical locations, impressive animation, memorable musical numbers, sweet characters, and positive life lessons in a fairy tale about the boundless love of family.

7. Swallows and Amazons

It’s a thrilling new adaptation of Arthur Ransome’s beloved classic. A story of daring adventure and exploration as a group of children embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Age: 8+

8. Secret Magic Control Agency

Hansel and Gretel are back together again. The movie is colourful and funny. It also has positive messages about the importance of forgiveness, working together to do good, and the value of family bonds. However, there are frequent depictions of magic and witchcraft and a scary scene or two, though the movie views dark magic as evil.

9. Yes day

A movie that could be aptly described as a fun-filled, entertaining roller coaster ride when being a parent, you always have to be rational and say no most of the time. For a day, the three kids of this couple get a day where their wish is their parent’s command. What ends up happening is total madness and a family get-together. The storyline itself is so interesting that you are bound to like it.

Age: 7+

10. Jingle Jangle

Jingle Jangle is a magical film. There are a lot of really feel-good moments between these characters, small touches with musical numbers. It is a bold and imaginative throwback to the classic Christmas tales of our childhood with a modern perspective.

Age 7 – 10

11. The Christmas Chronicles 1 and 2.

Produced by Home Alone and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone director, Chris Columbus, who brings his usual adventurous tone to the film, The Christmas Chronicles tells the story of two siblings — Kate and Teddy, who decide to catch Santa on camera on Christmas Eve.
