It’s so important to stay in touch with friends—you never know what weird and wonderful things you’ll learn. The other day, I was in a group chat with my friends when one of them mentioned her new obsession with Snail Mucin. “They work wonders,” she said. “I look like a baby. A literal infant.”
We were all shocked (snails, seriously?), but she explained how her skin had become tighter, more even, and less blotchy at the age of 40.
She uses Snail masks, weakly, and Snail Mucin regularly at night.
This time, she came with the whole explanation!
She explained that snail slime is loaded with goodies like proteins, glycolic acid, and elastin—basically all the stuff that tightens up your skin, helps new cells grow, and keeps it super hydrated. “It feels just like a nourishing mask, but without the heavy or sticky vibe,” she added.
Regular use of snail mucin has been shown to fade acne scars and hyperpigmentation, moisturize and firm skin, clear complexions and minimize pores.
I was still in disbelief until her next message popped up: “I’m radiating from the inside out, and that’s no exaggeration. You guys can try it out for yourselves!” It’s not as gross as you might think.
After some convincing, I thought, ‘Why not give it a try?’
Here I come, snails!!

Snail is a living creature. So to collect it’s mucin, does one have to kill it? What does a snail think about it, is it ready to sacrifice itself for someone else trying to.look good?
Next question is how does one glow from inside, by applying mucin outside? It certainly is not the mucin talking. Why not practice what helped you glow from inside!
How does protein from snail mucus permeate the skin barrier? Is there any trial to prove efficacy? What happens if the snail has some infection? Does the infection spread when applied? Point is how stringent is the quality control? So look before you leap, as the saying goes.
You’re tempting me to try. Off late there are too many snails around me. Hahahahha! I’m gonna kidnap one of the babies!
I am so tempted. I looked up the product on Amazon and it costs 1000 bucks. I’d like to try a small sample first, any clue from where I can get it.

I had rather remain with my acne and pigmentation. Lol. I guess when I apply that I would be having nightmares about snails creeping all over me!
I am yet to fall into the Korean beauty trap. Haven’t been gifted snail mucin yet so I haven’t tried. For the last 7 to 8 years, I have been solely thriving on PR packages 🤣

I’ve seen ads for snail-based products with the claim that the Koreans (with seeming fabulous skin) use it! I was as fascinated as you. But I think I’ll give it a skip. If it had come about 25 years ago I just might have been tempted to try it. At this stage in my life, I care a damn! 😉

That’s absolutely right. Snail mucin works great but I also think it would vary from people. I use the one from cosrx maybe if you’d want to begin I’d suggest you try this
