Ah, the age-old parental duty of tidying up our little ones’ room. With a blend of frustration and nervousness, I stepped into the domain of my daughter’s creative haven—Her study table.
Wondering why I am nervous. Well, let me spill the beans. There have been times when I’ve cleaned my daughter’s table, thinking those papers were not important, only to find out later that they were actually quite important. It’s like a mini heart attack every time!

If you’ve got a little artist at home, then you totally get where I’m coming from, right? It’s like being in a secret club of parents who find doodles and tiny paper drawings everywhere!
World of Tiny Treasures
As I got closer to the mess, I couldn’t help but grin at the colourful chaos before me. Papers were scattered everywhere like leaves in the wind, pencils hidden among them like precious gems, and it smelled like she’d been busy drawing.
As I carefully lifted the papers and stuff, I saw a bunch of sketches underneath. I spread out the sketches like precious treasures. Each girl looked unique and full of personality. It was like stepping into a fashion show, from fancy dresses to casual outfits.
A Peek into the Artist’s Mind
As I looked at each sketch closely, I couldn’t help but wonder about the stories behind them. What made my daughter think of these characters? We don’t wear such fancy dresses and hardly watch fashion shows. So, did she just make it all up in her head? The artistic mind is a real mystery!
Fashion Parade
As I looked closer, I saw that each drawing had its own style. Some girls wore elegant dresses fit for princesses, while others rocked trendy outfits straight from a magazine. Despite their differences, they all shared a spark of creativity.

A Symphony of Shapes and Shadows
But it wasn’t just the drawings that captivated me; the meticulous attention to detail went into every stroke of the pencil. Shadows danced across the paper, giving life to the simplest shapes and transforming them into something truly extraordinary.
The Quest for Meaning
Lost in a sea of sketches, I found myself pondering the hidden meaning of art. Was it a reflection of my daughter’s innermost thoughts and dreams? Or is it simply the product of a mindset free to roam the realm of possibility?
Embracing the Mystery
In the end, I realized that some mysteries are best left unsolved. Instead of seeking answers, I chose to revel in the beauty of the unknown and celebrate the boundless creativity that lay before me.
A Treasure Trove of Inspiration
As I again started cleaning the table, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of gratitude for the glimpse into my daughter’s world. Each drawing was not just a piece of paper but a portal to a universe filled with endless possibilities and untold stories waiting to be told.
The Legacy of a Young Artist

In the middle of the chaos, I realized that my daughter’s table was more than just a cluttered mess—it was proof of the power of imagination and the beauty of creation. As I carefully stacked the drawings into a neat pile, I couldn’t help but wonder what other wonders lay waiting to be discovered in the world of my budding artist.
Embracing the Magic Within
In a world that often values productivity over creativity, nurturing and celebrating our children’s imaginative spirits is important. Whether through art, writing, or play, fostering a love for creativity can unlock endless potential and pave the way for a lifetime of innovation and self-expression.
So, the next time you find yourself tidying up your child’s study table or exploring their belongings, take a moment to pause and appreciate the treasures that lie within. You never know what delightful surprises await, just waiting to spark joy and ignite the imagination.
Gift Your Child’s Artwork to Grandparents
After gathering these cool little artworks, I thought, “Why not share the fun of my child’s drawings with her grandparents?” It’d be super sweet, right? I’ll put them in fancy frames, and I know they’ll love them. These drawings will be like precious treasures of their grandkid’s imagination!

I was constantly smiling while I read this post. I have my elder daughter who is now 8, drawing on every piece of paper she finds. And yes, like you I too am skeptical about what do I do with them. All I could do is save a few best of her works.
This was so sweet like leaping back into our childhood or the times when my kids were young. Your daughter is very talented and artistic, Anjali.
I am sure her art gives a glimpse into her aspirations and thoughts too.
Thank you for sharing the ideas on how to keep their art safe. It has been tough for me to save their art because they sketch and draw almost every day!
Those ae some really nice drawings Anjali. I was relating some of them with certain fairy tale characters and her grandparents must have been so hapoy to get those frames😊.
You know what? something that I have noticed of this generation of children is that they draw really really better than us. It may be the influence of YouTube but the eyes, limbs etc are well defined and quite proportionate and they look real… I noticed that in your daughter’s pics too… very smart sketches. One boon of the digital age I guess🙂
Art is a great form of expression. My middle son is the most creative and loves to draw and paint – He paints behind the back of every rough paper he can find – so i have old bills and rough paper with his artwork!
My eldest is not very artistically inclined but once going through is old notebook I saw that his class notes were in the form of illustrations! I thought that was a great way to remember the concepts we have been taught!
These sketches are really pretty and they predict the onset of a new artist. I am glad that you found this treasure and that you preserved it with utmost care. I too try to keep my daughter’s colouring book safe.
I honestly didn’t expect this to be such a cute and heartfelt post. Your daughter’s drawings/sketches are amazing and she’s exuding talent as a fashionista/designer. I find art and craft tid-bits on my kids desk with secret notes from their school friends.
Very creative indeed. And it’s a fabulous idea to keep your child’s artwork alive by gifting it to family.
This reminds me of how my parents let me explore the unexplored and supported me throughout.
With every triumph, they were a little more happier and proud (Sometimes more than me).
It’s a beautiful piece 😍
‘Papers were scattered everywhere like leaves in the wind, pencils hidden among them like precious gems” is you painting a picture with words. No wonder your daughter turned out to be so creative! I’m not a parent but I felt myself swelling with pride as I pored over your daughter’s creations. If she’s this creative at such a young age, it’s only going to get better as she grows. Kudos to both the mama and the daughter (and the father too !) I’m sure the parents reading this would learn a thing or two as well, about letting the creativity of their child prosper and what they can learn and do with their creations
I must say , I can see a growing artist in the form of your daughter. The way she draws and conceptualizes the ideas is really awesome. I would love to see more of her work.
I’ll admit that I can’t even do 10% of drawing that your daughter did. All the graphics look thought through. And I also like the reel alot. But I understand the urge of diving into a creator’s mind. I know you’ve decided to live with the mystery, but just in case you figure out, please do write about iy.
Oh yes many a times , but my daughter is not an Artist but a great story teller. I see bunch of papers each having a story of it’s own
Like you, even I am scared to clean, what might be a trash for us it might be a treasure for them.
Your daughter is very talented, loved all her sketches.
Your daughter is very artistic and creative. Your post took me back to the time when my children were kids. I still have my daughter’s sketchbooks.
Your daughter is so talented! I loved the sketches and they were incredibly detailed in clothes as well as expressions. My daughter loved to paint and we all receive her handmade special cards for our birthdays. It’s a cute and blessed feeling to witness this creativity.
Anjali you are a blessed mom who gave birth to this tremendously talented daughter who is not just creative but knows how to implement her creative sense in a beautiful way. I looked at each of the drawing so minutely and I can say that there is an artist in the making. Once upon a time I used to be such a girl who loved to play with colors and pencils, but somehow that never interested my parents to encourage me and I lost my talented in the waves of time. Thankfully it got wings when my husband came in my life and he said you should start playing with colors again and use for creativity in your work and then again I hold the brush and did so many paintings and bottle arts. You are an excellent mother that you cherish your daughter’s creativity and observe them with so close view to identify the minute detailing in each of them. I am must say she is also a blessed daughter. I wish the little one to walk in this creative world with parents support and only if she want to pursue it further. Love you Kiddo … keep rocking and Love you too Anjali for being a wonderful mom.
It’s great that parents presently are focused and happy nourishing the creativity of their children. Your daughter is a beautiful budding artist. Best wishes to her.
Seriously she is very creative child …let her express herself through art…which I think 90’s kids were not favoured to do so
She is a budding artist..and it’s the best way to express oneself…these kids are blessed that parents Now a days encourage them to do such creative things .. follow art which interest them
I wish I was even half as talented as her. Her artwork is indeed really amazing, and I am so glad you get a chance to treasure it. I have some of my middle school students bring their sketch books and show me their artwork and I just stand there in awe of their talents.
Wow, you have artist. Awesome drawing Anjali. You should preserve it. One thing is sure the kids of this generation has more imagination and their brain work brilliantly. Offcourse they are flooded with so much information but creativity is one trait that every one has it own . I really love each sketch and more than her creativity. Keep it up.
This was incredibly nostalgic, reminiscent of childhood or when my children were younger. Your daughter, Anjali, shows great talent and creativity. I’m certain her artwork offers insight into her dreams and reflections as well. Thank you for sharing tips on preserving their artwork. It’s been challenging for me to keep them.
I can so very much relate to this cause this is exactly what I find at my daughter’s desk. I sometimes forget why I actually came there in the first place looking at her sketches. Your daughter has a great gift.
It is lovely that you are supportive of your daughter’s imagination and creativity. The art is so skilled, I believe you have a little artist and storyteller growing in your house 🙂
Regardless of the answer, one thing was clear – your daughter’s artwork was more than just pencil on paper; it was a window into her soul, a testament to the boundless creativity that lies within each of us.
This is such a cute post! I could relate to each and every word. My son loves to doodle and he likes making these small notes for his friends. I remember once I cleaned his room and threw all the small papers with drawings and chits with gibberish he had kept on the table. He cried so much that day, now I never throw anything from his room without checking with him. 😀
Haha I totally understand that feeling! Your daughter is quite the budding artist!
