If you ask the Universe for something, let it be Tools

If you ask the Universe for something, let it be Tools

Yes! If you ask the universe for something, let it be tools and not solutions.

There is a famous proverb: "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime"

Indeed, we can all agree on this sentence. When discussing humanitarian or social aid, we generally agree that giving people only what they need is harmful because genuine help entails providing them with the tools (physical, emotional, mental, and a job) to secure their livelihood.

Which is preferable: giving food or giving seeds and teaching how to till the land?

However, while this appears to be evident to the rest of the world, we find it challenging to implement it in our own lives…

And here’s a thought for you:

When you ask for something (to God, to the universe or a trusted person), how do you approach it?

Do you want and demand the final solution, the finished product, or the tools to accomplish it yourself?

Almost all of them, and I am the first to say this, are hoping for solutions through our prayers. The final product. Fish and ready-to-eat foods

We rarely think to pray for how we will be able to achieve our goals.

This brings us right back to where we started… If we don’t know how to take advantage of these opportunities, they’ll keep showing up in answer to our requests. As a result, I question myself today: What if we learned to ask in another way?

What kind of tool or assistance would I require to figure this out on my own?
And you concentrate on locating or requesting that resource.

Suppose you are going through a period of low self-esteem due to a failed love relationship, the closure of a business, or a negative internal dialogue that has been with you for years. Instead of asking the universe to “improve your self-esteem,” or to send you a new partner who makes you happy and reminds you of your worth, or to “change your mind,” ask for learning and powerful tools that will allow you to develop healthy self-esteem if you use them.

For example, you can request the right book, the right therapist, a dawn revelation, the possibility of spending an afternoon in silence, a transformative workshop, or an experience that changes your life and makes you aware of your worth.

That is actually what you have to ask the universe.

Two questions to think about

Before I wrap up this article, I’d like to assign you a few tasks:

Think of something you want or need to change because it makes your life seem less important.

When you’re finished, ask: What skills and tools would you require to achieve that goal for yourself?  And where can you get the assistance that you should take advantage of?

“Please don’t worry. I’ve got you.” – the universe

  1. This is a very nice perspective. Most of us pray for readymade solutions. However, it is best to ask for the means to the solution, rather than the solution itself.

  2. Very well said, ask the universe for the tool or the resource. One should ask for learning tools and not just one particular task, as it will help in the future too.

  7. Well written post with the perfect example of fishing. While asking for the desired result is easy, knowing how to get there makes us independent for life.

  8. Loved the message and I truly believe in this . Life is unpredictable and we all face various challenges once or more in our lifetime. Instead of end results, if we ask to god for strength to fight with them then the journey becomes lot meaningful.

I so much agree with your post and feel that we need to spread this the most. We have to understand that cooked solutions of life is not going to help us in a long run.

  10. This is such a thought provoking post. I totally agree with you that we should always ask the universe for tools not the solution. It is important to for everyone to realise. And I liked the phrase you have used (though the vegetarian me will not promote it) rather giving man the fish, teach him how to fish.

  11. That’s such a nice share with positive look out, I totally believe universe has our back

  12. Reaching the destination by other way is a good option than disturbing the present path. You are right we need to perceive things differently.

  13. Judy Morris says:

The other day I was attending church service and the priest there gave a similar sermon that one should not ask for the direct result but one should ask God or Universe resources with which we can achieve.

  14. This is quite a different and thought-provoking perspective when the world goes bonkers over materialistic goals and benefits. I love it, we should focus more on ways to solve the issues at hand, instead of quick gratification.

  15. I so believe in the universe listening to put wants and the post just brought out another perspective of it. Thanks for sharing this

  16. That is a wonderful and positive approach to living life and asking the universe. We should be focused on our goals and constantly improve ourselves to reach there.

  17. A very well written article. It actually made me ponder on many things. Truly it’s important to ask for tool which will help lifelong than to ask for one time aid.

  19. Asking for tools instead of cooked food is the approach I try to follow too. I think mentally we arent ourselves looking for immediate solutions we are looking for the guiding path, it depends on situation to situation.

  20. Before we try to change things and others, I think it is better we change ourselves. We change the world and others, but we can definitely change ourselves to adapt and survive. It gives life a whole new perspective.

  21. Kriti says:

This is so wholesome, we should be focused on our goals and constantly improve ourselves to reach there

  22. A positive and sorted approach towards life in general. We always seek answers and solutions from the universe. It is so important to analyze and ask for assistance or tools to reach the target. This post is quite an eye-opener to everyone of us 🙂
