The Festival of Lights, “Diwali,” is a joyous occasion, with brightly lit streets, guilt-free sweet binges, and a festive spirit all around. However, this brings with it many traditions. Cleaning the house, colloquially known as’ Diwali ki Safai, ‘is an age-old tradition that kicks off this festival of lights. No doubt, with it, comes the stress of cleaning your house to get it Diwali-ready.
According to popular Hindu belief, Goddess Laxmi resides in cleanliness. So, the cleaner the house is, the greater the chances for the deity to shower blessings on your house.
Most Indian children grew up seeing and encouraging their parents to do Diwali ki Safai (cleaning the house for Diwali). As a chid, I was responsible for my own rooms and light housekeeping. As kids, this encouraged us to purge without hesitation because moms always know how to get things done, hah!
As a parent, I’ve made it a point to instil in my kids the values I was taught: keep your space (bedroom and playroom) tidy and organized.
Cleaning is a hassle
Let’s face it: cleaning is a hassle. But with the right supplies and a bit of planning, you can minimize the amount of time you’d normally spend scrubbing the tile, cleaning the gas stove, removing grease stains and chipping away at scale and molds.
It goes without saying, that the kitchen is the hub of the house, and also undergoes major upheaval during this period. On the other hand, cleaning the kitchen must not detract from the festivities that precede it. Cleaning kitchens should be done on a daily basis to ensure a lower workload after the festivities.
For a busy Mom, maintaining work and caring for your family’s needs while keeping your home neat requires a lot of effort. These tasks appear to be difficult, especially for a mother and wife who work full time. And, like so many other things in life, you must bring everything together and make it work.
Fortunately for today’s busy moms, we live in a world where everything is at our fingertips. Aside from technology, house-cleaning ideas and tactics make life easier for any busy mom.

Make your kitchen sparkle with CIF
CIF multipurpose cleaner
I am curious about the most talked-about cleaning product on social media. This strong cleaner does everything! I will explain where and how to use it. Take note!
To be clear, I am not one of those folks who enjoys cleaning. I don’t put on my headphones and make a morning out of it. It’s not anything I consider to be a workout. It’s just something that has to be done, and I want it done correctly and as soon as possible.
It’s all about the sprays and mousses these days, so I was worried it would take longer and be more difficult to use.
But the the fact is… It isn’t.
How to use Cif multipurpose cleaner
- Pour it on the gas stove or burner.
- Leave it for a bit.
- Go back with the damp cloth,
- Wipe it; that’s it.
Job done. Isn’t it super easy?
Use a bit more on the stubborn stuff.
I tried it on my kitchen sink (an obvious place to start) and was chuffed with the results. It’s now spotless, which can only help my quest to become the ultimate domestic darling.
“Don’t you wish you could finish cleaning the house and just hit the ‘save’ button?”
Cif’s multipurpose cleaner is a game changer for easily removing grease stains from stoves or hard grease stains. It is made with natural citric acid from lemons and is 100% natural.
Odour of Cif
Most abrasive cleaners with harsh chemicals have an unpleasant odour. Cif multipurpose cleaner cream, on the other hand, does not fall into this category. It comes in natural fragrances that will leave your kitchen smelling fresh and sparkling clean.
You don’t need to be harsh or rub harder with Cif multipurpose cleaner. Use it gently to remove grease stains from your stove or cooktop, leaving your kitchen super clean and sparkling.
How to clean grease stains: CIF multipurpose cleaner
If you have a stubborn grease stain on the stove, burner, or side of an appliance, use a cream degreaser instead of a liquid degreaser. Why? Because gravity is at work, cream degreasers do not slide as easily across the surface as liquid cleaners. Also, cream degreasers work well on tougher stains because they stay on the stain longer and get rid of more grease.
Where to buy Cif multipurpose cream?
You can buy Cif multipurpose cream in any supermarket or department store. They also sell it online on Amazon. (Here)

I super love and trusted CIF brand. Perhaps, it was an influence my my mom who uses CIF as well at home. We basically grew up using CIF as our main cleaning product especially in the kitchen. It really does well with oil!
I have been hearing a lot about the brand. Seeing the pictures you shared, it looks like it really works. I am going to give it a shot.
Diwali safai is one of the most tedious job one can have in life i strongly believe that but yes I must say there is a different charm and happiness in it. But this year I am saved from this safai as I am away from my home.

A long time back I read of CIF, I don’t remember was it Noor’s blog or someone else’s but yes it is a good product.
I have been a fan of Cif for many years now. Metal especially gets cleaned very well and the oil & grease come out easily. Has the packaging changed recently…..i have one which has green swish not pink.
Is CIF as good as you have described it? If yes, then I will order it right away. Kitchen grease is so stubborn and settles on all surfaces. Our Indian cooking is to blame, actually. Will check out and CIK kiya kya will change to Kiya kiya!
Sounds a like a good little thing! I’ll remember to check it out
My daughter is very interested in different form of arts and crafts activities and I don’t stop her from trying out different mediums. However, that takes a toll on the floor. These tips are very useful.
