Simple Ways to Detox your Body

When you plan to detox your body, two things are always discouraging – the amount of time it takes for the plan to work, and the hunger pangs that follow the detox/diet program.

The truth is, detoxing can be much simpler than you might think. In fact, chances are you already use some of these detox methods.

Taking care of yourself is a sort of mindset, and if you’re looking for simple methods to cleanse your body, the ideas below are a perfect way to start.

There are countless detox recipes on the internet, but I’m going to share one that I swear by.

Include water and potassium-rich foods (and drinks) that are low in sodium. This is a potent combo that restores normal fluid balance and flushes out bloat and puffiness.

Why is this combo so magical?
Fluids help to flush out your system while potassium helps to counterbalance sodium. Go for vegetables all of them, especially green leafy veggies and fruits.

The body gets run down from unhealthy food choices,You need to flush out the toxins. Otherwise, they can poison your metabolism.

Cleansing Rainbow Detox Salad

What could be better after a festive of indulging than a fresh detox salad, full of the colours of the rainbow?

This salad is full of antioxidants, vitamins and fiber, is ideal for detoxing and more importantly, it’s absolutely delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped red cabbage
  • 1/2 cup chopped zucchini
  • ½ cup chopped red pepper
  • ½ cup chopped yellow pepper
  • ½ cup chopped Capsicum
  • 1 cup chopped cucumber
  • 5 chopped olives (optional)
  • Any veggies of your choice!
  • ½ lemon juice
  • Spritz of olive oil (optional)

Directions:
Simply mix everything together and spritz with juice from ½ lemon and several spritzes of olive oil.

Detox Drink

Simple Ways to Detox your Body

This is one of my favorite detox drink. I feel like a feather after gulping down this water. It calms my stomach down a lot.

Ingredients:

  • 8 ½ cups of water
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 12 mint leaves
  • 1 tsp of cumin seeds ( put it in a pouch or in a strainer (pic given below))

Preparation :

Add mint leaves, slices of cucumber, lemon, a tablespoon of grated ginger, and a pouch or potli of cumin seeds to a jar of water. Keep it in a fridge in summer or on dining table.

*Take maximum of 5 glasses a day, the mixture must remain in the refrigerator in summer.

Kiwi detox slush

The kiwi detox slush is known for restoring alkaline balance in the body and is also an excellent choice for heart health.

Simple Ways to Detox your Body

Ingredients:

  • Kiwi (prefer fresh)
  • Orange
  • Lemon
  • Cucumber
  • 1/2 tsp Chia seeds

Preparation

Peel off the kiwi’s outer layer as thin as possible. Blend chilled (optional) water, chunks of cucumber, half tsp of chia seeds, kiwi, add orange and blend smooth, can add few drops of lemon. (Can add ice cubes as per desire)

Health benifits of Kiwi

Kiwi contains a natural digestive enzyme that is ACTINIDIN. Therefore it can break down protein. So, that’s how it improves function at gastric as well as intestinal levels. It is also an excellent source of immune-boosting.

The following was gentle yet powerful method I like to use and have seen wonderful, life changing results with.

    Oh yes! After eating all junk, sweets and fried food during festivals, Christmas and new year, now its time to detox and flush out bad fats from body. Definitely considering this diet in my routine.
